A Year Full of Surprises
It seems like it was just yesterday but a year has already passed since we both exchanged vows and entered the married life. Married life taught me a lot of significant things and decisions that could make our lives either worth living or miserable. Marriage is such a very huge responsibility one has to deal with seriously and I must say, religiously. It must be a give-and-take relationship to make things work out for both of you and your significant other. It should not give-and-give; because it makes your partner becomes selfish, it should not take-and-take; because it makes you selfish as well. So it must be a give-and-take relationship!
A normal relationship has always its unexpected conflicts between each other's decisions or feelings, but a normal couple know how to deal with these things responsibly and maturely.Communication is just one of the keys. Disagreements will surely happen in marriage but there are always solutions and ways to resolve. After all, you chose the person who's gonna be your best friend and whom you think is your soulmate because you agreed to spend the rest of your lives together.
In the past 12 months, I must admit we did have rough roads as we journey towards our first year of marriage. But it was just part of every couple's journey to spice up our lives, and to reveal each other's different personalities. Besides, it is God's way of testing on how strong you both can tackle every difficulties you encounter along the way. It also helps build a strong foundation in every relationship. And I am very grateful for having such a very understanding and loving husband. Despite of our distances, no matter how many miles away we are, we managed to have a good communication and maintain the trust we have shown to each other.
Our first year was really filled with surprises. We seem to agree that marriage was the best thing that we ever did because God is giving us a wonderful gift soon, a baby girl. A special gift we've longed for such a long time. And this tiny angel made us more inspired and happier ever...can't wait to be proud parents soon. As long as God is the center of our relationship, marriage will always succeed no matter how many obstacles will come along your way.

A successful year that was filled with fun and laughter, trials and obstacles, sadness and sorrows, love and romance, and most of all, wonderful surprises that made us even more stronger and inspired us to become responsible parents soon. These made our lives really worth living. May the good Lord continue to bless us more each & every day as we continue to journey in this married life. |
